The Top 10 Retailers

Jan 07, 2024 By Susan Kelly

In the retail sector, companies sell goods and services to consumers through traditional storefronts. Clothing, jewellery, homewares, small appliances, electronics, consumables, and medications are just some of the many products and services available at retail outlets. Retail sales—up to over two-thirds of the U.S. economy—are a significant driver of the country's prosperity.

Traditionally, shops, malls, and online marketplaces have been the primary distribution channels for retailers. In contrast, many brick-and-mortar and e-commerce establishments sell their products through digital channels.

Below is a list of the top 10 retailers measured by their TTM (trailing twelve months) revenues. Only publicly traded companies in the United States or Canada are included on this list. Because not all companies outside the U.S. disclose profits every quarter, the 12-month trailing numbers may be older than they would be for a company that reports quarterly in the U.S. YCharts.com was kind enough to supply us with the graphs.
